Carlos Mare (Carlos Rodriguez, b. 1965) is a New York City-born artist, muralist, and designer who emerged from the graffiti and hip-hop culture of the South Bronx in the late 1970s and early 1980s. His multidisciplinary practice spans painting, sculpture, murals, and industrial design, characterized by dynamic compositions that fuse street art energy with fine art discipline. Mare139, as he was also known in the graffiti world, is recognized as a pioneer of the movement and has exhibited and created public works in New York and internationally. He is also known for his design work across furniture and product design.
