Tats Cru, often known as The Mural Kings, is a Bronx-based graffiti collective that grew out of New York subway writing and became one of the city’s most influential mural crews. Formed around the work of Bio, Brim, and Mack and later expanded through members including BG183 and Nicer, the group helped define the transition from illegal graffiti to commissioned public muralism in the 1990s. Their work retains the technical discipline and visual boldness of classic graffiti while adapting to memorial murals, community projects, and commercial commissions. Tats Cru occupies an important place in the history of how graffiti entered mainstream public art.
